My day and kitchen progress

Posted in Kitchens, Uncategorized

After my morning appointments I stopped by my sister’s property and checked on the progress with the installation of her new kitchen. My sister is all about vintage fashion and bold colour (she designs, customises and replicates vintage-style clothing) and her new kitchen is going to reflect that.

There’s going to be a little breakfast bench for two in the space next to the windows (above). I just love the contrast of her blue cabinetry against the orange geometric benchtops.

As you can see it’s not finished yet - painting to do, appliances and tap not in yet, splashback to be installed (orange glass to match the benchtops) but it’s going to look great.

The buildings on their property are surrounded by beautiful once-carefully-tended gardens and flowerbeds that are being nurtured back to life. The buildings as well as the gardens are an on-going project that need a lot of work and a lot of love which, happily, my sister and brother-in-law are bestowing in generous measure. I couldn’t believe how much they had done since my last visit - walls had been replaced by archways, new timber floors laid, brickwork rendered and painted, and much more. They have also planted one veggie garden and are laying out the design of another (below).

On the way home I stopped off at some antique shops, to make the most of not having a car full of car seats for a change!
