The beauty of coloured boxes: enter Hermes

After I posted this image (above) here last week I started thinking about how much I loved the surprise pop of blue in the coloured boxes under the desk, and what a useful decorating tool coloured boxes are.

See what I mean? This display (above) is really appealing, but the green boxes take it to another world of beautiful. Of course everybody’s favourite coloured box in the world of decor (in other worlds the blue Tiffany box might take first place) is the orange Hermes box.

Or even, the best orange and the best blue used together:

Yes, they are gorgeous and the perfect shade of orange, but they are expensive to come by, especially if you want to use them as a collection.

But there are ways around the I-want-that-expensive-orange-box problem. I saw this over at High-heeled foot in the door (which is now Effortless Style)- it’s a chocolate box! Now that’s what I call a gift that keeps on giving..

    I do love the look of the orange boxes together, never thought of using other colours but the blue under the desk look great too :)
