A relaxed country/beach house

You might have seen this Hamptons beach house before in House Beautiful, but I’ve just come across and love its casual, relaxed style. It wouldn’t even need to be near the beach - I can imagine this as a country cottage opening onto a beautiful garden, where you can keep the doors open all day as you cook, read, relax and potter about outside. I love the faded reds, the antique rug, the kitchen’s chequered tile floor, the toile chair - I’m still a fan of this fabric, and you can’t have a country cottage without a bit of toile!

    Hi Naomi,

I have a design business called, “Country Beachhouse”. I thought you might like to see our winter collection from last season. We called it the Sparrow Collection. You can view it on our Country Beachhouse facebook page.

    Have a nice day.

I’m a big fan of toile too and have always loved that classic French Country look. The reds make it less beachy (than if it were blues) and more like a cottage. And I love that they are relaxed about pets being on the sofa!

Hi Elka, I am a huge fan of blue, but I agree with you that the reds used here are so much warmer and a pleasant change from the expected blues and whites of a beach cottage. And as for pets on sofas - what would a weekender be if this wasn’t allowed?! Thanks for stopping by xNaomi
