Who says red and pink don’t go together?

Posted in Colour Love, mix it up, pink

It feels like it’s been an exhausting week and it’s only Tuesday! Lots of fun decorating has been happening in my world and planning for my soon-to-be-five-year-old’s party. I’m relaxing tonight by perusing some of my favourite websites and finding colour inspiration. This apartment mixes a lot of colours and styles (french, classic, modern, retro) and I’m loving it’s fun, arty and stylish vibe:

I always love french furniture and that pink chaise is a standout! The glass coffee table looks great surrounded by formal french antiques.

Glass shelves across a window is one of my favourite looks (above).

Blue and green should never be seen? I don’t think so! Love these shades of blue, green and grey in the library’s furnishings and artwork. That cowboy figurine is the perfect shade of aqua!

Colours combined: Pink and Brown

Some time ago I mentioned that I wanted to replicate a pale pink living room I had seen in House Beautiful, but couldn’t find the clipping to post it. Well, here it is:

I just love it! Pairing the pale pink with lots of white works but could have been too feminine if it weren’t for the brown on the chairs, sofa and cameo cushions. It has me thinking about pink and brown as a colour pairing. Pink and grey would probably be my favourite colour combination, but I have a lot of brown furniture in my house, so I can imagine pink and brown being the next best option for me! I would love to give this combination a try..I think a man could live in the room above, don’t you? Here are some of my favourite pink and brown rooms:

Dark brown works best with lots of fresh white and accents of pink and pale blue/aqua (above).

Feeling Inspired!

I’ve just been visiting a great blog, Plain & Fancy Living, and came across some fabulous images of Christmas decorating that are so inspiring! This is the home of designer Meredith Heron as featured on HGTV Canada:

What a beautiful room! Love the palette of neutrals, pinks, greys and pale purple. Of course the trellis fabric on the chairs is a favourite! The wall of pictures and the baubles on the silver platter look fantastic.
