Saturday House of Inspiration

Just when I think I’m hooked on bold colour for my own home I see a home like this one and am I’m reminded of how much I love pure white spaces, french-style furniture and feminine decor. This week I am inspired by this home decorated by Tracery Interiors and featured in House Beautiful. The architecture and flooring of the house itself are stunning, but the furniture and furnishings in shades of white and pale greys with pops of bright pink does it for me big-time!

My fave pic (above) - boy do I love muted greys and white, herringbone floors and a double-height ceiling with wrought-iron railings!

Mismatched chairs in the dining room (above) prevent a stilted and overly formal look.

Gorgeous huh? See you next week! x

So glad I stumbled across your blog! Have had vision how I want to decorate my new home and now I have a great point of reference. Love the rooms in the and have taken the plunge to buy a pair of French armchairs similar to that in the bedroom shot. Is it wrong to be so in love with these chairs?

Hi Sam, I love those chairs and this style of decorating too. How exciting to have a new home to play with! Thanks for stopping by and for the comment! Naomi

  2. This is a lovely home. But you know what I’m noticing in the photos? All those little pops of color are either fresh flowers or other items brought in by a photo stylist. For me, without those pops of pink, the whole look is waayyy too neutral. That color against all the neutral is what totally makes the house. Just my humble opinion :)

Hi Kristie, I see what you’re saying but I go through phases of colour love then phases when I crave a neutral home like this one - I guess the upside is tha if you got sick of pink you could easily switch it for another colour! Thanks for your comment!
