I love everything about this arrangement; the pale greys, greens, blues and whites, the symmetry and the beautiful aged patina of the pieces. Chandeliers and mirrors are a decorating marriage made in heaven, don’t you think? And it helps that I’m a big fan of blue and white ceramics..love it all!
Hello! After what has been a lovely break from sitting at my computer (I can’t remember when I last blogged!) I’ve decided I should probably start doing some work again, and also start getting some of all the thoughts in my head down ‘onto paper’. We have had a lovely week at the beach, and as usual (I mean I feel like this every school holiday) I am reminded that there really is nothing better than just being with family, enjoying meals together, walks on the beach and little miracles like lost teeth and bedtime stories without the pressure of early starts the next morning. Holidays are Heaven! Of course being on holidays means that I’ve had some extra time to develop my plans for a house in the country, though that’s for another day…The sun in shining and it’s hard to escape the fact that Spring has arrived, and in that frame of mind I’m thinking of pale blues with lots of fresh white..
I’m obsessed with barn-like rooms at the moment! I don’t think I ever want to live under a flat ceiling ever again! Well, at least not a low one..And I love the big blue doors that look like they slide open to reveal another room (above).
Black and white photos all framed in black always look fabulous displayed together and give this room so much punch! (above)
French-style pieces with lots of white and blue= gorgeous! I love the mixture of sparkle paired with a shabby table and the industrial metal chairs.
Can you imagine having this window by your bed in your holiday home?
Have a great Tuesday! x
How gorgeous is the relaxed French style of this apartment? It’s filled with character and antiques but is completely without that pretentious ‘salon’ formality you see in some French apartments. I love the faded shades of grey on the furniture and the beautiful little collections of pretty things on all the surfaces.
What an amazing wall of portraits – all of women (?), such a beautiful collection.
The purples and aqua colours in this upholstery sing to me – and love that this classic chair and fabric is paired with sleek white furniture and a modern lamp.
Did you see the rest of Ruthie Sommers’ house in Lonny? So many classical elements and antiques paired with lots of colour – not to mention the gorgeous building that houses it all!
I love this vintage fashion shot- I’d love a big blown up version of it on a wall behind a sofa. Aren’t the colours beautiful?
My dream townhouse!
Have a great day xx
