A little book confusion..?

I took delivery of a stack of lovely new books today. Oh how I love getting new decorating/design books- it is an addiction for me! Among them was ‘Domestic Bliss’ by Rita Konig – it came out years ago but after seeing the top pic (which was credited to the book) on a blog I decided I must get it. Only..there are no pics in the book! It still looks like a great read and I love the red and pink hardcover, but if you know the source of the top image please do let me know, and I’ll rush out and buy that too. I’ve been searching in vain for years for a stylish ashtray (oh no, not for smoking) like Rita’s signature pink one!

Inspiring me today..

I know I’m not the only one running around like crazy today making the most of the last day of school before Easter holidays kick in! I absolutely love having all my children at home and am really looking forward to the time with them, but it also means two weeks of a more intense work/home juggling act! Hopefully this year I’ll be organised enough to do some of those Easter craft projects I always admire on blogs and in magazines.

But being a little busy doesn’t mean I’m not thinking interiors..today I’m loving:

This entire scene;

Molly Sims’ outdoor dining room;

The pinks, greens and blues in this room;

Eclectic collections of beautiful things as in this room:

Rita Konig’s New York apartment

Remember Rita Konig’s apartment in Domino mag? I love the way she mismatches furniture and colours and has lots of pictures on the wall and books and photos on surfaces. To me it represented sort of a parallel life to mine and where I could be living if I weren’t a wife and mum in the suburbs! The style is so young and fun and so single-girl-living-in-the-city, and I never get sick of looking at it..
