It’s great to be back to a normal routine now that the holidays are over - though it has been a wonderful two weeks! I don’t feel as organised today as I had hoped to after the break- somehow I didn’t get to a lot of those jobs around the house that I was determined to knock over, the time just flew by too quickly! But there is a lot to be said for routine, and it’s nice to have a few quiet minutes again to re-acquaint myself with the blogging world. So, onto decorating.. This is my favourite colour at the moment – pale grey that hints at purple or powder blue. It’s such an elegant colour, especially when combined with silver and black (above).
Pale shades of purple and white can sometimes look overly feminine. In this pale grey/lavender bedroom (above), the addition of black in the furniture and the abstract painting keep the room grounded and prevent it from becoming too girly.
Love the framed shells and coral in this water-inspired bedroom (above).
Chinoiserie wallpaper is something I always love to look at. The pale grey/purple/blue and gold in the pattern is repeated in the silk curtains and furniture. Isn’t that gold desk amazing? I love how the shape plays off against the more detailed and traditional elements in the room, like the chandelier, chair and drapery. It’s such a glam space.
