I greatly enjoyed reading the new July/August issue of Lonny mag yesterday. So much gorgeous stuff to look at – I’m going to have to start buying the hard copies one of these days! I love the content of the online mags but I really do prefer having them in my hands and on my coffee table! Am I the only one who gets a strong urge to go shopping and to re-decorate every time I read Lonny?? xx
I am a complete magazine addict, and even though I try really hard to tear out pages I can’t live without and give away as many as I can, there are so many I can’t part with and as a result, I have a HUGE magazine collection. My reasoning is that I think of the good ones as books (albeit floppy ones full of ads), that are worth keeping for reference. Sometimes the ads alone are worth keeping for inspiration! I love flipping through old ones and finding new inspiration. So as much as I love online decorating magazines, I wish I could have printed-out hard copies so that I could add them to my collection. These pics are from the premiere issue of Trad Home , a sort of marriage of Lonny and one of my old favourites, Traditional Home. I particularly like the pinks and greens in the home by Megan Rice Yager. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!
I’m honoured that a couple of pics of my work were included in an article on decorating with contrasting colour that went live on HGTV today!
Thanks so much to the article’s author, Camila from the wonderful Effortless Style blog, for including me in her article, and also for featuring my work on her blog today.
Her article is fantastic and full of inspiring pics so be sure to check it out on HGTV here!
I’ve had a few enquiries already this morning about the painting – it’s by Anne Marshall, a wonderfully talented artist who also happens to be my mum! If you’re interested in her work please email me.
I am obsessing this week over this New York apartment belonging to Alixe Laughlin from fabric house Quadrille featured in the latest Matchbook magazine. Of course it’s packed full of gorgeous fabrics from Quadrille. I love her use of pattern layered on pattern and the colours: blue/black/white and orange. I also love the faux bamboo cabinet, the glossy modern white desk and the blue french side chests used in the living room -they all work so well with the fabrics. Love it!
